"I just had the privilege of watching my dear friend Dr. Joel Carter give a Tedx talk in Winnipeg about the importance of story telling in the final stages of life. In addition to enjoying his wonderful, storytelling skills, I was once again struck by the depth of his humanity, and how much I share his belief in the vital role stories play in connecting us as human beings. He refers to the sacred space between people that is created through the magic of sharing our stories. His talk hit home to me personally and professionally, and clearly it had the same effect on the packed room he addressed which was left breathless and very moved."

"Dr. Carter is a rare physician who believes love has a place in medicine and health care. By recalling his own very personal stories, Dr. Carter showed us how story sharing can become the basis for building the important and sacred space between care giver and care receiver. His thoughtful and emotion-filled presentation had us laughing, crying and thinking about the people who have touched our lives and how important it is to open the door for the most meaningful stories to be shared.! A great message well delivered!"
